Catherine's Place and Friendship House
Catherine's Place and Friendship House are an integral part of the services offered to women and children impacted by substance use disorders here at ReDiscover. Our beautiful homes located in the historic Hyde Park area are centrally located to our day treatment facility and many of the necessary community resources our families access each day.
Many families who enter our services struggle with access to stable housing among other basic needs. To assist people who are struggling with substance use disorders and other mental health diagnoses, it is important to address basic human needs first. If a mother can feed her children and knows where she and her children will sleep that night, she is more able to focus on her therapeutic needs.
Both Catherine's Place and Friendship House have eight family-style bedrooms, free on-site laundry, full-service kitchens, playrooms, exercise rooms, and an outdoor playground. Each house also has designated spaces for individual and group counseling sessions as well as parent-child interaction therapy.
In addition, both homes provide stable, safe, and therapeutic living environments for women and women with children. For many women and children, this is their first experience with a stable living environment. Both houses strive to meet the individual women’s needs and assist her in meeting the needs of her children. Staffs in the homes are available to assist with parenting, employment, individual and group case management, and therapy services. All of these services are in addition to participation in treatment services at our Woodland location.
